Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning market to register 12.62% CAGR in the forecast period: Bonafide Research

Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) technology has gradually expanded its market presence and steadily gaining market share throughout the world. The term "variable refrigerant flow" refers to the ability of the system to control the amount of refrigerant flowing to each of the evaporators, enabling the use of many evaporators of differing capacities and configurations, individualized comfort control in different zones, and heat recovery from one zone to another. Most VRF condensing units have inverter based variable speed compressors to control the flow of refrigerant to the evaporators. Refrigerant flow control lies at the heart of VRF systems and is the major technical challenge as well as the source of many of the system’s advantages. According to recently published report of Bonafide Research "India Air Conditioning Market Overview", variable refrigerant flow air conditioning market is expected to grow with a CAGR of 12.62% over next six years. In India, VRF systems are gaining its market shares both on medium sized commercial buildings and premium segmented dwellings. The advantages of VRF technology over others include high power savings, quick installation, ease of operation and the flexibility of choosing a wide range of indoor units that suit the application and decor. A VRF AC system can cool large multi-zone spaces with varying heating and cooling needs through smart controls. In India, these systems are sold mainly to hotels and restaurants, hospitals, educational institutions, residential as well as office spaces. The water cooled VRF condensing have become alternative to traditional water cooled HVAC equipments for medium size commercial buildings. VRF system gives versatility in the selection of indoor units which have made them popular among architects and interior decorators. VRF AC has picked up in various markets across the country as manufacturers claim that it is easy to install, run and maintain when compared conventional chilled water AC plant. As a result of greater awareness about energy efficiency, consumers are migrating from using VRF technology, based on a combination of fixed compressor and inverter compressor, to inverter VRF systems; based entirely on inverter compressors, which help lower running costs. Inverter technology is ideal for individual and zonal control, helps save space and reduces the electrical installation cost. In India, industries prefer energy-efficient inverter type VRV systems for their real estate projects. More and more customers are becoming aware about these systems and are demanding the latest technologies. Manufacturers like Blue Star and LG are betting big on inverter variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air-conditioning in India. Blue Star Limited has announced the launch of the next generation, 100% inverter variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioning system named Blue Star VRF V Plus. Blue Star VRF V Plus is the country's first 'Made in India' 100% inverter VRF system which is ‘Made for India' since it's well suited for the varying climatic conditions as well as voltage fluctuations faced across the country. LG Electronics have developed a new product range of 4th generation VRF systems on the segment, where a VRF condensing unit either of their air cooled or water cooled can be connected with air handling units as indoor units to meet the requirement of higher static, air quantity etc. for factory, medical, hospital applications, auditoriums etc.
